Tommy, our first 'born' kid, passed away. He was only 6 1/2 years. Very young for a cat. The vet told us he had a heart attack. We got him when he was a kitty. We had Allie's birthday party saturday and he always hides when there are people around so we weren't shocked that we didnt see him. He sometimes hides for a day after an event because he thinks there might be people here still. He does not like to be pestered so he just hides. So sunday we didn't think anything of it that we hadnt see him at all. Well Monday, i figured he should be out and about at least. He can't be still mad at us for having people over, or can he? So when Nick got home Monday night, we put the kids to bed and we went on a search. We searched for a hour and half! Finally we found him, but not the way we wanted to. :( He had passed away in the basement. Poor kitty. So our household is in mourning. Our oldest daughter who is only 3 1/2 years old is taking it really hard. Any suggestions how to make this easier for her? she has been crying a lot. Poor kiddo. If you feel lead to please pray for her and my husband to get peace over this. They are having the hardest time. Our other cat, tommy's sister, 5 months younger than him is so depressed. The vet, says its completely normal, they grieve just like humans. Nick and I aren't sure if we should get her another friend right away or not. Any thoughts? We will miss you, Tommy! Rest in peace.

I'm so sorry. How sad. I totally understand the sadness. Pets are such a part of the family. The sadness will lessen with time. Let everyone grieve in their own way. Praying for peace and comfort. Tommy was such a pretty kitty.
